Guitar workshops

Guitar Workshop

Paul Pomeroy – Guitar and Bass Tutor  Paul has been a musician for almost 30 years.  He has played in a number of bands one of which had a record contract and singles released in the 90’s. Paul played with a number of well known bands in early 90s to include Oasis and Blur. Paul can play anything that he is asked! He has been a Tutor with DJ Workshops for over 3 years.

Electric Guitar workshop

The students will use Junior Electric Guitars. The set up will be the same as for the djing in which the students will have workstations with headphones where they can work on their own and take turns working in small groups with the tutor. The workshop is designed for beginners. The students will learn the basic chords from their favourite songs (Dizzie Rascal is a favourite!  ) The students will learn in very easy way and by the end of the workshop they will be able to play part of a song on their own and in also in a group.

Paul has devised a very easy and fun way to teach in which the young people find what they achieve in a short space of time very rewarding. They are also encouraged to bring their favourite music in to learn. We work with the music that they like to use which also helps the learing.

The Electric Guitar can have 8 young people using the equipment at one time this is a good number if you are looking for a Bronze Arts Award course. Taster workshops can accommodate up to 20 students at one time.

Collingwood College Paul has recently finished a 12 week course at this school in which ALL young people successfully passed their Bronze Arts Award.

Special needs groups Paul has also worked with a number of special needs groups, GAP Basingstoke for young adults really enjoyed their lessons on the Guitar and used this as part of their Bronze Award.
